Who builds it

Secure Folder is made by Mehmet Ali Kısacık, an indie developer based in Istanbul, Turkey. Mehmet Ali Kısacık is the indie developer behind Secure Folder: Incogni Vault, the on-device photo vault for iPhone. He builds privacy tools where the honest answer to "where is my data?" is "on your phone, nowhere else." It's a small, independent project — one person building a tool he wanted to exist, and standing behind every privacy claim on this site.

How your privacy actually works

The point of a photo vault is that nobody else can get in — not a person holding your phone, and not a company holding your data. Here is exactly how Secure Folder keeps things private:

• On-device only. Photos, videos, notes, and files live in the app's protected local storage on your iPhone. There is no server to upload them to, and we can't see or recover them.
• No account, no upload. There's no sign-up, email, or password. Nothing you put in the vault is ever sent to us or anyone else.
• Face ID and PIN. Unlock with Face ID or your PIN. Biometric checks are handled by iOS — the app never sees your face or fingerprint data.
• Decoy vault. A separate decoy PIN opens a fake vault, so you can hand over a passcode without revealing your real one.
• Intruder alerts. If someone enters a wrong PIN, the app can quietly capture a photo of them and save it to your on-device intruder log.
• Stealth mode. Disguise the app icon so the vault hides in plain sight on your home screen.
• Anonymous analytics. The app sends only anonymous usage events to Firebase — never your photos, files, or PINs — so we can see which features matter.

What this app is (and isn't)

Secure Folder: Incogni Vault is an independent iOS app. It is not affiliated with Surfshark's Incogni data-removal service, and it is not Samsung's Secure Folder — it's a standalone private photo vault built by an indie developer.
