About Secure Folder
Secure Folder: Privacy Vault is a private photo vault for iPhone that lets you hide photos, videos, and files behind Face ID and a PIN. Unlike cloud galleries, it has no account and no cloud sync, and it never uploads your files.
Who builds it
Secure Folder is made by Mehmet Ali Kısacık, an indie developer based in Istanbul, Turkey. Mehmet Ali Kısacık is the indie developer behind Secure Folder: Privacy Vault, the on-device photo vault for iPhone. He builds privacy tools that keep your data on your phone and off his servers. It's a small, independent project: one person building a tool he wanted to exist.
How Secure Folder handles your data
A photo vault should protect your files from anyone using your phone without sending them to a company's servers.
- Stored on your iPhone. Photos, videos, notes, and files live in the app's protected storage on your iPhone, and nothing is uploaded.
- No account. There's no sign-up, email, or password.
- Face ID and PIN. Unlock with Face ID or your PIN. Biometric checks are handled by iOS, and the app never sees your face or fingerprint data.
- Decoy vault. A separate decoy PIN opens a fake vault, so you can hand over a passcode without revealing your real one.
- Intruder alerts. From the third wrong PIN by default, the app can quietly take a front-camera photo and save it to the intruder log inside the app.
- Stealth mode. Disguise the app icon so the vault hides in plain sight on your home screen.

Secure Folder: Privacy Vault is an independent iPhone app made by Mehmet Ali Kısacık. It is a separate product from Samsung's Secure Folder.
